The Worldwide Freelance Writer web site was launched in 1999
with the purpose of publishing information about freelance writing markets around the
world.
At that time there were several other great writing sites
devoted to writing markets in North America... but very little information was
available on markets in other countries. So we set up Worldwide Freelance Writer
and started our own database of international
writing markets.
Our market database has grown over the years to
be one of the leading resources for freelance
writers looking for markets for their work. Our
database now lists more than 2,400 publications from all
over the world.

Management
The Worldwide Freelance Writer
web site and newsletter are owned by Altavado
Limited. Our company was headquartered in Hong Kong
from 2006 until 2009. At the beginning of 2010
we relocated to New Zealand where the company is
now incorporated.
Our
Managing Director, Gary McLaren is the founder
and editor of Worldwide Freelance Writer.

Our company has published
a number of ebooks in the
areas of writing, photography, and internet
marketing.
We have also designed software for writers in
the past. Our
